Boring characters, you're on notice

Found this post most helpful. I can't count the number of times I have struggled with a story where the characters are doing something that should be interesting, but it just isn't. It's not the character's fault. They may very well wind up doing something interesting at some point. When they do I'll be happy to put their story on paper. But until then go about your business.
